Justin Bieber has released a 3D-printed sneaker called the Earth Bender through his Skylrk brand in collaboration with footwear technology company Zellerfeld. The Canadian singer launched the shoes last weekend at a four-day pop-up store in Tokyo’s Shibuya district. Bieber co-founded Skylrk in April with business partner Neima Khaila.
The Earth Bender sneaker takes design cues from soccer cleats and features an overturned tongue with mesh details on the upper portion. Customers could purchase the shoe in a bright lilac color, while a neutral oat version was available for display only. This marks Bieber’s second time wearing Zellerfeld designs, having previously been spotted in the company’s recyclable Nami sneaker in Los Angeles during October.
Zellerfeld has established partnerships with several notable brands and athletes in the 3D-printed footwear space. The company has worked with Nike on the Air Max 1000 and Air Max 95000 models, and is currently developing a 3D-printed performance basketball sneaker with Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown’s brand 741.
Hailey Bieber contributed to the Tokyo launch with her own design called the Rest Slipper in “Hailey Gray.” The pop-up store also featured other Skylrk products including slides, hoodies, sunglasses, and a phone case designed to hold joints or blunts. While Skylrk has additional 3D-printed styles in development with Zellerfeld, the company has not announced release details or confirmed whether the Earth Bender will be available beyond the Tokyo pop-up.
